I have been in the behavioral health field for over a decade. To some, that may feel like no time at all, while others may feel that’s pretty impressive. I vacillate between the two feelings myself. In my time in the field, I have learned that relationship and safety are key in healing. So this will always be my goal, to create the most safe space through compassion and empathy, to help support you. People come to therapy for so many reasons. To be “fixed”. If I have learned anything, it is that you are not broken. You are surviving. Often, it’s how we’ve learned to survive that leaves us feeling broken. Because the way we learned to survive doesn’t work anymore.
In sessions together, we will explore how you learned how to survive, and how those lessons have carried on through your life. From there, we can use many different approaches to create curiosity and compassion for who you have learned to be and how to create who you want to become. I use modalities like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Shame informed Therapy, and a few other eclectic techniques I have picked up along the way. The most important tool I will use, however, will be collaboration. You and I will work together as you discover your own needs and what works best to meet them in the healthiest way.
At the heart of our practice is a deep understanding of the healing power of emotional support. Lead therapist Kaila is dedicated to creating a nurturing space where individuals can find solace and support.
